How do I know that my details are being transmitted securely?
When you browse a web page, any secured pages will be easily distinguishable by 2 features: firstly, the URL (web address) will begin with https:// (not simply http://). Secondly, when a secure connection is established, a 'golden padlock' icon will appear in the bottom right hand corner of your web browser.
In order to use secure connections you must be using an up-to-date version of Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Mozilla or another browser which supports SSL encryption.

What personal details are stored on your web server?
We endeavor only to store details for the convenience of our customers. Credit card numbers are only stored for as short a time as necessary for their related transaction to be processed.

What is the difference between 40 bit and 128 bit encryption?
128 bit encryption is considerably stronger than 40 bit encryption (each "bit" doubles the strength of the encryption, therefore 128 bit encryption is 2^88 times stronger than 40 bit).
Until approximately the beginning of 2002, 40 bit encryption was the only kind that products made for export from the United States were allowed to use. This has since changed to 128 bit as the United States government has acknowledged that 40 bit encryption is "too weak" for use with real sensitive data.
We recommend that all of our customers try and use 128 bit encryption, although our server will support 40 bit if it is all you have access too. Upgrades to improve encyption strength are available for all older browsers from the manufacturers websites.
